About the development

Mammoth grass is a newly developed Miscanthus hybrid species that was created in Boskoop after many years of breeding.

 

This newly developed Miscanthus hybrid 'Mammoth' (the official name of this new species) is superior to the existing species Miscanthus giganteus, also known as Elephant Grass, to name just a few differences: Mammoth Grass grows faster, taller, has white instead of green fiber and is sterile.

 

Due to the many advantages and positive properties of Miscanthus 'Mammoth', Dutch Plant Force has applied for a PBR/Plant patent for this type so that we can offer an interesting revenue model for our (future) partners and for the breeder.

 

As a partner of Dutch Plant Force, we see unprecedented opportunities and applications worldwide in the cultivation of Mammoth grass as a basis for various sustainable solutions for agriculture and nature, circular applications in 'bio-based' construction and for biomass-related applications.
